ABOUT THE UNIT
What a full eye test actually finds
Our ophthalmology clinics test vision and prescribe glasses, measure eye pressure, examine the retina and treat cataracts, glaucoma, dry eye, infections and diabetic eye disease — for adults and children.
A sight test is not an eye examination. Glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy cause no symptoms until damage is done, so anyone with diabetes, high blood pressure or a family history should be examined even when the vision seems fine.
WHAT WE TREAT
01
Blurred vision
Tested properly before assuming it is just glasses.
02
Cataract
Assessed, and operated as a day case when it is time.
03
Glaucoma
Eye pressure measured and monitored long term.
04
Diabetic eye disease
Screened yearly, before vision is affected.
05
Dry, red or painful eye
Examined rather than treated with drops from a pharmacy.
06
Squint & lazy eye in children
Picked up early, when it can still be corrected.
THE TREATMENT JOURNEY
1Vision & pressure testing
Sight measured and eye pressure checked before you see the doctor.
2Examination
The ophthalmologist examines the front of the eye and the retina.
3A plan you understand
Glasses, treatment or surgery, with the cost and insurance cover confirmed before anything begins.
4Follow-up
A review date set according to the condition, not left open.
