About the Role
A general practitioner (GP) is a medical doctor who provides primary care to patients of all ages. The job description of a GP typically includes:
- Conducting routine medical examinations and assessments of patients to diagnose and treat illnesses, injuries, and other health conditions.
- Prescribing medications and treatments, as well as referring patients to specialists when necessary.
- Managing chronic health conditions, such as diabetes, asthma, and high blood pressure, and monitoring patients' overall health and well-being.
- Educating patients on healthy lifestyle choices and disease prevention strategies.
- Maintaining accurate and detailed medical records of patients' health histories, treatments, and progress.
Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, such as nurses, pharmacists, and specialists, to provide comprehensive and coordinated care.
- Keeping up-to-date with the latest medical research and developments to ensure the highest quality of care for patients.
- Communicating effectively with patients and their families, and providing emotional support and counseling when necessary.
Requirements
Requirements:
Licensed GP in the UAE (DoH license preferred)
Minimum 3 years of experience in outpatient setting
Ability to treat most acute and chronic presentations in outpatient and urgent care setting
Competent in basic procedural skills
Demonstrates good knowledge of latest evidence based medicine
Fluent in Arabic and English
